Inspired by a very personal love story, the first jewellery icon was born: the Wellendorff rope, hand-crafted from pure 18-karat gold. Renowned worldwide for its ineffably delicate feel, the SILKY DELIGHT necklace unites the gold ropes from the “Silken Delight” and “Classic” generations. Gently and loosely entwined, the result is a gracefully elegant necklace.
The SILKY DELIGHT necklace is a combination of seemingly contrasting elements: it’s made of hard 18-karat gold that is as soft as silk. Discover the secrets of the Wellendorff manufactory!
18-karat gold is meticulously spun into very delicate threads that are artfully hand-wound into flexible ropes by an experienced Wellendorff master goldsmith.
The utmost precision is required when making the SILKY DELIGHT necklace. The ropes can only be crafted by hand as the delicate 18-karat gold wire has to be felt and manipulated. Only three goldsmiths have mastered this unique technique.
Inside the three loosely wound gold strands, an 18-karat gold soul provides the perfect balance between the necklace’s stability and flexibility. The result is an unparalleled wearing experience - like the feeling of golden silk.
Behind the delicate and graceful appearance of the iconic Wellendorff rope lies solid 18-karat gold. It’s shaped by hand into a fine yet stable gold wire in the Wellendorff manufactory. But it’s the secret 18-karat gold soul inside that gives the rope its unique flexibility.
The clasp developed by Wellendorff is ergonomically shaped and enables the wearer to easily put on and take off the necklace herself. The sophisticated clasp can withstand a tensile force of up to 60 kilograms and is therefore extremely secure.
It’s the precise winding of the strands that gives the Wellendorff rope its extraordinary fineness, in turn making it uniquely comfortable to wear and preventing hair from getting caught in the necklace. With its timeless and elegant design, the rope makes this necklace a perfect companion for every day and every occasion.
