The “Brilliance of the Sun” gold rope shines with great luminosity. This captivating play of light is created by small surfaces which reflect the incident light. The goldsmith's technique used to create this effect is, of course, a closely guarded secret of the Wellendorff manufactory.

THE OVER-ALLOYING.
The Wellendorff alloy is created in the Pforzheim manufactory according to a highly protected family formula. To create this alloy, the master goldsmiths always add two additional parts of fine gold, thereby “over-alloying” the gold and making it even more exclusive.

Behind the delicate and graceful appearance of the iconic Wellendorff rope lies solid 18-karat gold. It’s shaped by hand into a fine yet stable gold wire in the Wellendorff manufactory. But it’s the secret 18-karat gold soul inside that gives the rope its unique flexibility.

The clasp developed by Wellendorff is ergonomically shaped and enables the wearer to easily put on and take off the necklace herself. The sophisticated clasp can withstand a tensile force of up to 60 kilograms and is therefore extremely secure.

It’s the precise winding of the strands that gives the Wellendorff rope its extraordinary fineness, in turn making it uniquely comfortable to wear and preventing hair from getting caught in the necklace.
