It all started with an unusual question:
how can the most beautiful feelings in life – love, happiness and success – be combined into a single piece of jewellery?
The Wellendorff manufactory found the answer! A ring that breaks down boundaries the DIAMOND DROP, with a floating 1.5 ct. diamond drop and six happiness rings that can be inserted, interchanged and spun.
Red, green, blue, black, rainbow or sparkling: the six happiness rings reflect the different facets of life. They can be inserted, spun and interchanged with a gentle click – a piece of jewellery that matches every mood and, in turn, becomes a loyal companion.

Goldsmiths have been working with three types of settings for thousands of years: pavé, rub-over and bezel. Wellendorff combines all three in the DIAMOND DROP ring. Created by Wellendorff with the highest precision using a two-prong setting, the pavé setting allows the diamonds to sparkle closely side by side. The gold is carefully rubbed over the edge of the stone so that it is flush with the setting, much like what is done with the Diamond-W.

Only 48 rings have been created worldwide. The number is not a coincidence, but a symbol: Hanspeter Wellendorff gave his wife Eva the first Wellendorff rope 48 years ago. This limited edition reminds the family of its origin while honouring its tradition. Each ring is, therefore, also a piece of family history.

The DIAMOND DROP ring is showcased to long-standing lovers and friends of the Wellendorff brand at exclusive events and cannot be purchased in Wellendorff boutiques or directly from jewellers. In 2025, these events will take place  in Biltmore, Shanghai, Tokyo and Bensberg Castle. In this special setting, presented by the Wellendorff family, the jewellery piece of the year and its special meaning are revealed.

There is a story behind every masterpiece. In the new Wellendorff family magazine, brothers Georg and Christoph Wellendorff talk about the inspiration behind the DIAMOND DROP ring.
