At the Wellendorff jewellery manufactory, love has always been the driving force behind all of our endeavours. And so, inspired by a very personal love story, the first jewellery icon was made: the Wellendorff rope - a gift from Hanspeter Wellendorff to his wife Eva to fulfil her wish for a silky-soft necklace. It remains a global jewellery icon to this day. Since that time, the master goldsmiths have been creating pieces of jewellery with Eva that are as versatile and unique as you are.

THE CLASSIC WELLENDORFF ROPE.
THE QUEEN OF ALL NECK CHAINS.
Like in a fairy tale, 18-karat gold is spun into very fine threads that are hand-twisted into flexible ropes.
The first generation of the gold rope, namely the “Classic” generation, is probably Wellendorff's most famous piece of jewellery and the queen of all neck chains.

THE “BRILLIANCE OF THE SUN” GENERATION.
THE MAGICAL PLAY OF LIGHT.
The “Brilliance of the Sun” generation enhances the classic Wellendorff rope with an enchanting play of light. The origins of this miracle happened very suddenly and by chance: Georg Wellendorff and a master goldsmith were inspecting a necklace that a customer had accidentally jammed in a safe door. A beam of light hit the damaged area, reflecting off the necklace so precisely. Both men were so fascinated by this effect that they devoted two years to developing a secret goldsmithing technique to create the “Brilliance of the Sun” rope.
