Michèle and I had just got engaged and were looking for wedding rings. As we walked down Post Street in San Francisco, the Wellendorff display in the window of the old Shreve & Co. jewellery shop caught our eye. We went inside and were instantly enamoured by the Wellendorff rings – their ability to spin, their exceptional craftsmanship, and how comfortable they felt when worn. This is where our journey with Wellendorff began. I chose the HIBISCUS ring as my wedding ring because it symbolises the close bond I share with my wife in a clearer and more powerful way than a simple gold ring. I like the colour and the design, but the really special thing about it is that I know what it means: my love for Michèle. That was almost thirteen years ago. Since then, we have often celebrated the milestones in our lives with Wellendorff jewellery. For example, we both wear custom-made bracelets as our everyday jewellery. Michèle owns one in white gold and one in yellow gold. I also own a white gold one and, upon writing this, am considering getting a yellow gold one soon. Like all our precious Wellendorff creations, which also include two of my wife's spinning rings, we only take these bracelets off to clean them. We like our jewellery to complement each other, and it gives us incredible satisfaction to combine our pieces time and time again, as well as coordinate them as a couple. By doing this, we remind ourselves, and anyone who asks us, of the significant events we've shared together. For us, this jewellery symbolises us as best friends and loyal partners. It is a silent commitment to one another. The great thing is that you can also touch other people with what you wear. We are active on social media with the account "styleafter50" and show our followers that people can dress well and have a loving relationship like us, even at an older age. We always like to mention and show our pieces of Wellendorff jewellery on our page. The craftsmanship of this family is of incredibly high quality, the design is unique, and the technology behind pieces of jewellery, such as the flexible gold bracelets, is fascinating.
